Great job to everyone this past Saturday, June 12, 2021 on the promotion test! Despite the compressed time frame, I was pleased to see so many turn in a really quality performance on the test and nail their curriculum with such confidence in particular. Great work to the mentors and instructors for getting everyone ready!
Super special congratulations to our Dan candidates. Black belt classes have been some of the largest, most special classes during the pandemic and the stream of Dan candidates during this period really speaks to that.
Jeremy Suh has been a part of our Youth program and our most successful convert from the youth to adult program to date. He performed an incredibly high level test that showed a national competition caliber of proficiency in both poomsae and sparring, and as he leaves for his 2nd year of college at Columbia, we'll miss his weekly presence terribly! Congrats on your 3rd Dan!
Master Julie Nelson has been a part of the program since 2004 and has been one of the heartbeats of the program. As you read in her bio, she is the creator of the "Taekwondo for Life" class that gives an on ramp and emphasizes accessibility for our beautiful martial art for all types of students. We were all entranced by her wonderful intentionality and passion on display this past weekend. Congratulations on receiving the rank of 4th Dan, Master Instructor!
