Women’s Blue Belt Division:
Desirae Mix (Silver). A very tough match and missed the victory just by a point. Paired against a larger athlete she was still able to land quite a few solid points from the short range and kept good defense at long range. (4-5 L)
Women’s Green Belt Division:
Tracie Curry (Gold). Tracie won two very solid matches. She did an excellent job adjusting throughout the match to meet her sparring goals such as keeping good pressure forward and throwing multiple kicks to follow up on the attack. Solid high section kicks.
Tamar (Silver). Tamar had a great performance. A little hesitant in the beginning, she got stronger and stronger as match went on, turning her hips over and scoring a few points.
Sara Golas (Silver). Sara faced a very experienced red stripe and did an excellent job managing the distance, being creative and adjusting to the game. This was her first tournament match and her skills and positive attitude shined!
Yakun Li (Bronze). Sparred up against a red belt opponent. Despite of her injury and not being able to kick on the left, she scored 14 points in the match! A very close match!
Men’s Red Belt Division
Sean Landergan (Silver) – Sean fought a very athletic red belt, he was able to score a few points but just missed the match by a few points. Maintained a strong distance and used his long kicking range to his advantage.
Men’s Green Belt Division
Adam Krol (Bronze) – In his first tournament debut, Adam sparred an advanced red belt. Adam had superior footwork and took an early lead, but two head kicks by his opponent were too much to overcome. (6-11 L)
Lam Nguyen (Bronze) – Also in his tournament debut, Lam fought very well. He score some great inside kicks but his taller opponent was able to jam him up and make it difficult for him to score as the match progressed. He had the poise and stamina that would otherwise surprise you to hear this was his first match!
