  • nystc 01.29 Congratulations to folks who fought at the NYSTC meet - Pano, Sasha, Liza, Kyria, Erica, Mike, and Imani. Pano, Mike and Kyria took silver in men's bantam-feather, fin-fly and women's welter-middle respectively, and Liza bronze in women's welter-middle. Sasha took gold in men's light-welter. Pano and Sasha qualified for the trip to the German Open. Pano will head off for the Feb 19th weekend along with AAU athletes Jayson Grant and Fredson Gomes to Bonn to compete in the German Open at bantam, light and middleweight respectively.
  • feb 21 Welcome back to Pano, Jayson Fredson, from their outings at the German Open. Level of competition was very high...good quality matches for all.
  • mar 3-6 US Open crew: plans are all good for the open. tBOS kits are due in mar 1 and will include the tBOS uni, warmup and hat. It's all about the tribe! competing in men's middle (Fredson) welter (Chinedum and Sasha), men's light(Fabio), men's bantam (Pano), men's fin (Dan), women's welter (Liza), women's middle (Kyria). Good luck to Mike who will miss the US Open but will be in Beirut for the Lebanon event.
  • mar 7 US Open: Congratulations to the crew. Along with strong showings by Sasha and Liza against quality opponents in their opening matches as well as quaterfinal appearances by Chinedum and Dan, there were the medallists: Fredson took bronze in middleweight, Kyria silver in women's middle, and Pano the gold in men's bantam. Although leading comfortably with just 20 seconds to go in the match, Fabio was forced to bow out on a technicality in the quaterfinals when medics were unable to stop his nosebleed in the third round. Were it not for that misfortune, he'd have been in the semifinals and competing for a shot at the gold. Welcome back to Mikey too, who took silver in the Beirut Open after a hotly contested final against Jordan in men's flyweight.
