Head Instructor
Dan Chuang
Dan Chuang is a certified 5th degree black belt (Kukkiwon #05082683), and earned his black belt under Han Don Cho of the Cornell University Sport Taekwondo Program. Dan currently serves as the head instructor for C.W. Taekwondo at Boston, which he runs in concert with the other senior instructors at the club. He is also the head coach of MIT's Sport Taekwondo Club, which was the Overall National Collegiate Champion in 2004, 2008 and 2009, and won the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference Cup from 2003-2006. As coach of the MIT team, Chuang was honored as the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association Coach of the Year.
Chuang works hard to organize competitions and promote Taekwondo at the national and regional levels. He serves as the Secretary General of the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association, which is responsible for running the US Collegiate National Championships and selecting the US Collegiate National Team. He was tournament director of the 2005 National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships and also runs an annual collegiate tournament at MIT. Chuang also serves as director of the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference, a league of over 400 students from Taekwondo clubs at over 25 colleges and universities which compete in a circuit of 5 tournaments per year.
Chuang has extensive coaching experience at the international level. He served as coach of the 2008 US National Collegiate Taekwondo Team in Beglrade, Serbia at the World University Games. He twice served as coach of the US Cup Team, a regional traveling team that competes abroad at international events around the world. He was also the men's team head coach for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships in Madrid, Spain, where he had the pleasure of coaching his friend and training partner, Chinedum Osuji. Chuang currently coaches and trains with t.Bos, a group of national and international level competitors who have been training at C.W. Taekwondo at Boston since 2001, including national champions.
Chuang earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University and currently works full time in that field at MIT.
Senior Instructors
Chris Tuozzolo
Chris Tuozzolo has been training in Taekwondo since 1993 and has over a decade of teaching experience. He is currently a 4th Dan (Degree) Black Belt, Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) certified, and a USA Taekwondo Certified Coach and Referee. Chris has competed at the Collegiate, State, and National, and International Open level in Taekwondo. He began his Taekwondo training at Cornell University under Master Han Cho. In 1998, he moved to the Boston area and co-founded C.W. Taekwondo at Boston in Cambridge, MA. Chris currently sits on the Board of Directors, serves as a Senior Instructor, and is the Director of the Youth Program and CW Taekwondo at Boston. Chris holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and is currently a Mechanical Design Engineer working in atmospheric sciences research at Harvard University.
Melinda (Mel) Minear
Mel Minear has been training in Taekwondo since 1993, where she started studying Taekwondo under Master Han Cho. She is a Kukkiwon-certified 4th degree black belt, and was one of the founding members of C.W. Taekwondo at Boston. Mel has competed at the state, collegiate and national levels. She currently teaches Level 1 taekwondo, requirements class and black belt class, and she is also on the board of directors of our organization. Mel is an active person and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, and cooking in her spare time.
Kathy Chuang
Kathy Chuang is a 3rd degree black belt who currently teaches the Wednesday sparring class. She started training in TKD in 1995 with Master Fang-Hui Huang in New York City and attained her 1st dan under him in 1998. She joined CWB in 1999 informally as a member of their competition workouts group. She is a co-founder of the Harvard Taekwondo Club, and was a member of the Columbia Taekwondo Club. She has competed the state, national and international levels, bronzing both at the Nationals Collegiate Taekwondo Championships and Collegiate National Team Trials for black belt sparring. She currently is in residency training at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Michael (Mike) Harb
Mike Harb is a Kukkwion-certified 5th degree black belt. He brings a wealth of competitive experience to the club as a former 6-time Australian National Team member, World Cup quarterfinalist and Olympic alternate for Taekwondo in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is one of the coaches and team members of t.Bos, our competition group here at the dojang. Mike is also the head coach of the Tufts University Taekwondo program and sits on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference. Mike serves as the manager of the training staff at Gold's Gym in Arlington.
Brian McCormick
Brian McCormick is a Kukkiwon-certified 3rd degree black belt and started his Taekwondo training at CW Boston in 2001. Brian teaches the Thursday Level 2 Core class. In the past he has served as both the club President and Treasurer. Brian has an MBA in Finance from Boston University and a BS in Management from Bentley University. He is employed by Middlesex Savings Bank as a Credit Officer and is an active community volunteer.
Anastasia (Ana) Kazimirova
Anastasia Kazimirova is a Kukkiwon-certified 3rd degree black belt, and is a currently active competitor. She earned a bronze medal at the 2009 US Collegiate National Championships in lightweight sparring. Ana teaches Cardio Kickboxing and Thursday Level 1 Taekwondo. She began her Taekwondo training in Chicago at Maine East High School, where she practiced ITF style Taekwondo for about a year before moving to Ithaca, NY where she started training with Grandmaster Han Cho. Ana earned her 1st through 3rd degree black belts under Master Cho at Cornell, where she competed for the Cornell Sport Taekwondo team. Ana is working towards a PhD degree in immunology. at Tufts University. She is currently serving her second term as the club's Dojang Manager.
Adult Program Instructors
Patrick Starremans
Patrick Starremans is a 2nd degree black belt and teaches Level 1 Taekwondo (Mondays). He started Taekwondo at age 15 in the Netherlands, where he also experimented with several other martial arts, such as Shotokan Karate, Meibukan Goju Ryu and Aikido. Patrick joined C.W. Taekwondo Boston within 2 months after his arrival in the US in July 2003. He tested for both 1st and 2nd dan at CWB. Patrick holds a PhD in Medical Sciences, and he specialized in kidney disease during his 4-year post-doctoral period at Harvard Medical School. He now works as a kidney research scientist at a biotech company in the Greater Boston Area. Patrick and his wife reside in Belmont.
Matthew (Matt) Litman
Matt Litman is a 2nd degree black belt and an L1 assistant instructor. Matt began his Taekwondo training in 2001 in White Plains, NY and upon relocating to Boston in 2002 he joined CWB, where he earned 1st and 2nd dan. When not attending or teaching classes, Matt spends time caring for the various marine life living in his house.
Nouredine Ousmane
Nouredine Ousmane is a 1st degree black belt and teaches Sparring class (Saturdays). He began his Taekwondo training in his native country of Niger in 2003 under Mansour Camara. Nouredine moved to Ithaca, NY in 2005 where he trained under Grandmastser Han Cho at C.W. Ithaca for two years before moving to Boston in 2007, where he continued his training at C.W. Boston. Nouredine is a System Administrator at Commonwealth Financial and also plays guitar in a band in his spare time. He is also an active Taekwondo competitor.
Youth Program Instructors
Jason Greenberg
Jason Greenberg is a 2nd degree black belt. He teaches Cardio Kickboxing and is an L1 assistant instructor. He also directs CWB's Little Tigers Youth Program. Jason began his training in Korea as a child in 1988, and continued later at George Washington University in Washington, DC from 2000-2003. He has trained at CWB since 2006, earning his 1st and 2nd degree black belt here. Jason has competed at the national and international levels, and has won gold medals at regional tournaments. He is an attorney in Boston practicing in the areas of civil and commercial litigation.
Brett Schuschereba
Brett Schuschereba is a 4th degree black belt who started taekwondo at age 7. In addition to teaching, he was the 2006 Middleweight National Champion as well as a 2008 U.S. Pan American Championships Team Member (Heavyweight). "Doing your best is more important than being the best."

James Glettler
James Glettler is a 1st degree black belt. He teaches Cardio Kickboxing and is an L1 assistant instructor. James joined CW Taekwondo Boston in 2005 and has competed with the MIT Sport TKD team. He currently works as an Electrical Engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
