Cardiokickboxing class

Cardiokickboxing - also known as aerobic kickboxing or cardio kick - incorporates hand and foot techniques from boxing and Taekwondo, in an hour of focused cardiovascular and muscular conditioning, all played to high energy beats.

Workout intensity depends on the individual: techniques can be performed for both high and low impact. It's ideal for those who like to learn while they burn. You will sweat!

Class Information

Drawing on our strong background in technical martial arts, the classes are taught so that the kicks and punches are true to the mechanistic details that make them effective techniques in their respective sports. We pay attention to having proper body position and dynamics, as well as to the obvious aerobic benefit of the workout. We hope you'll join us!

Format:

3 classes per week
1 hour per class

Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 pm
Fridays 6:00-7:00 pm

What to wear:

Loose, comfortable clothing such as one would wear for aerobics or running. We work out on a firm but pliable matted surface, so sneakers are not worn. Socks are permitted but not recommended.

What to bring:

Classes often include a jump-roping component so students are encouraged to bring a jump rope. Students are also welcome to bring a towel or roll-up mat for the floor exercises at the end of class. There is a water cooler and many students bring their own water bottle.

Duration:

The Cardiokickboxing program at CWTKD has rolling admissions. Students are welcome to enroll for 3 or more months. Enrollment locks in session costs but is not a contract and students can cancel at any time without penalty. Enrollment can also be put on temporary hold (for up to 6 months at a time) with 15 days notice.

À la carte blocks of 5 or 10 classes are also offered. Please note that à la carte blocks of classes expire after 6 months.

Cost:

Dues are currently $50 per month for automatic billing using a credit/debit card or checking/savings account. Dues can also be paid manually at $55 per month (over the phone, or by mail, using credit/debit card or check).

À la carte blocks are $50 for 5 classes or $90 for 10 classes.

Jump ropes are for sale for $10. We also have a few loaner jump ropes for $1/class.
